Man injured in early morning shooting on Schooner Trail in Chesapeake


CHESAPEAKE, Va.

— The Chesapeake Police Department is investigating an early morning shooting that left one man injured in the 4000 block of Schooner Trail.

Officers responded to the scene around 1:26 a.m. and located an adult male suffering from injuries sustained during the incident. Police confirmed that the victim’s injuries are non-life-threatening.

Authorities remained on site for several hours as the investigation continued. No additional information regarding potential suspects or circumstances surrounding the shooting has been released.

“The Chesapeake Police Department is currently investigating a shooting that occurred at approximately 1:26 a.m. this morning,” the department stated in a public release.

Investigators have not disclosed whether the shooting was targeted or random and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
