Brooklyn, New York.According to authorities, a fight on a subway train at the 59th Street station got violent Thursday evening, injuring a 65-year-old man.
The incident happened at approximately 7:15 p.m. on a northbound N train, where the victim got into a verbal dispute with an unnamed person. As the argument heated up, the defendant lacerated the victim’s face with a punch.
Following the event, the attacker left the scene on foot. No arrests have been made, according to the police, and it is unknown where the suspect traveled.
After arriving on the scene, Emergency Medical Services took the victim to NYU Langone Hospital in Brooklyn. As of Thursday evening, his status was described as stable.
The cause of the argument and whether the victim and suspect knew each other have not been established by investigators.
After the attack on the Brooklyn subway, the suspect is still at large.
In an attempt to find the culprit, the NYPD is now examining security footage from the 59th Street station and the adjacent neighborhoods.
According to authorities, the unidentified person left the scene on foot and went to an undetermined location.
There were no reported injuries, and the incident did not include any weapons. There was no interruption in transit service.
