The incident started at 12:50 a.m. on March 9 when a Chevy Camaro drove by a marked squad car on 16th Street close to Deane Boulevard at speeds of 90 to 100 mph, according to the Racine County Sheriff’s Office.

All of the passengers were transported to a nearby hospital after deputies reported that their injuries were not life-threatening. Two of them were then moved to Froedtert Hospital to receive additional care.

Salvador Coronado, a 34-year-old Racine man, was confirmed as the Camaro’s driver. Coronado is thought to suffer non-life-threatening injuries and was sent to Froedtert Hospital.
According to the authorities, Coronado had two offenses of bail jumping in Racine County, operating while revoked (because of a previous OWI), and fleeing and eluding.
Coronado received a sentence of two years of extended supervision and eighteen months in prison. Coronado was still under the Department of Corrections’ supervision at the time of Sunday’s collision.
The Kenosha County Sheriff’s Office is conducting a general investigation, while the Wisconsin State Patrol is reconstructing the crash.
