VAA, MANASSAS After attacking several officers during a domestic dispute investigation at a condominium complex, a 51-year-old Manassas man was taken into custody Wednesday evening, according to the police.
At 10:51 p.m. on November 27, police were called to the Stratford Condos in the 11000 block of Koman Close in order to look into a domestic dispute. One of the participants, John Willington McCoy, started destroying property while the investigation was underway.
McCoy openly resisted and attacked and hit many officers when they tried to arrest him. Eventually, McCoy was restrained and arrested without any more problems.
McCoy was found to be inebriated at the time of the encounter by the police. Several officers were slightly hurt, but they didn’t need to be taken to the hospital.
Four charges of assault and battery on a law enforcement officer, one act of obstruction of justice, one count of disorderly conduct, and one count of being intoxicated in public were brought against McCoy, who lived in the 11000 block of Koman Close. A court date is still pending, and he is being held without bond.
