Manhattan Assistant DA Attacked and Robbed by Illegal Migrant Tren de Aragua Member With Six Prior Arrests

NEW YORK According to cops, an assistant district attorney in Manhattan was robbed early on Sunday morning in the corridor of her Hell’s Kitchen apartment complex. Authorities claim that the defendant, named as 22-year-old Brandon Simosa, committed a sexual act during the assault and stole the woman’s handbag, cell phone, and bank cards. The crime happened at around two in the morning.

The perpetrator was identified after police were able to trace the stolen cell phone to a hotel on West 45th Street. Samosa, who is thought to have entered the country in February 2023, was taken into custody late Monday night while reportedly consuming drugs on the street, according to authorities.

At the time of his arrest, Simosa was allegedly in possession of goods that had been taken during the heist. According to police, he is connected to the Venezuelan group Tren de Aragua, which has been implicated in similar crimes against people in places like Times Square and Central Park.

The victim, who was unharmed in the event, is one of several recent victims of what authorities have called a string of organized-group attacks targeting residents of New York City. Simosa is currently being charged with several offenses, including burglary and robbery with sexual motivations.

Samosa has been arrested six times this year on identical offenses, according to records, which highlights what investigators say is a concerning pattern of criminal behavior.
