Maryland Avenue carjacking suspect caught on camera in Northeast DC

Washington, DC Police are currently looking for the suspect in the late-month carjacking and assault of a guy sitting on his moped in Northeast Washington, DC.

At around 5:37 p.m. on Monday, December 30, the event took place in the 1500 block of Maryland Avenue NE. According to the victim, the suspect came up to him, assaulted him, and took him off the moped by force before driving off in the stolen car.

Images of the suspect and the pilfered motorcycle were taken by surveillance cameras. As part of the inquiry, pictures have been made public to aid in identifying the culprit.

Police want anyone with information regarding the incident or the suspect to text tips to 50411 or call (202) 727-9099 to speak with a police officer. Up to $1,000 is being given as a reward for information that results in an arrest and conviction.
