Park, Brooklyn, Maryland On Thursday, officials reported that a Pasadena construction worker had won $50,000 on the Maryland Lottery’s new $10 Mega Bucks scratch-off ticket while on his lunch break.
The man and two colleagues decided to try his luck with the Mega Bucks ticket, which had just gone on sale on December 2, while they were at Discount Cigarettes on Ritchie Highway in Brooklyn Park. He unveiled a $100 additional prize at the top of the ticket while scratching the vibrant game.
Encouraged by his first victory, he kept scratching and scanned the bottom part of the ticket, finding a second-tier prize of $50,000. The winner said, “My friends thought I was kidding.” He told the business owner how excited he was, and she confirmed the win and joined in on the celebration.
According to the father of three, he intends to increase their savings and fund family activities with the profits. He won $10,000 some years ago, but this is his biggest lottery victory to yet.
All nine $100,000 top prizes, nine additional $50,000 second-tier prizes, and a plethora of smaller prizes ranging from $10 to $1,000 are still up for grabs with the $10 Mega Bucks ticket.
