Minneapolis, MNSmoke and haze are expected to persist over much of Minnesota through Monday, with spotty showers forecast across parts of the state on Sunday and Monday.

Air Quality Alert in Effect Through Monday

An Air Quality Alert remains active until noon on Monday, although conditions improved slightly Sunday, shifting from the red to orange pollution category.

Health officials urge vulnerable individuals—such as children, seniors, and those with respiratory conditions—to limit outdoor exposure while the haze lingers.

Hazy Skies, Light Showers Sunday

Spotty showers are expected across western Minnesota Sunday, with light rain chances expanding north and east through the evening. Temperatures are forecast to reach the upper 70s, with the Twin Cities expected to top out near 78°F.

Some parts of the metro may see sprinkles later this evening, followed by overnight showers.

Week Starts Mild, Ends Hot

  • Monday: High near 78°F with similar haze and light rain chances
  • Monday Night: Additional showers possible
  • Tuesday–Friday: A warming trend sets in, leading to hot and humid conditions by late week

Forecasters warn of a sticky and uncomfortable finish to the week as temperatures climb closer to 90°F.
