– The tragic death of missionary Beau Shroyer has left a

church community reeling, especially as shocking details emerge about his wife, Jackie Shroyer, who is now accused of orchestrating her husband’s murder. What seemed like a family dedicated to service has taken a dark turn, with allegations of betrayal, a paid murder plot, and a scandal that has stunned family and friends.

An Affair and a Deadly Plan

Jackie Shroyer, 44, allegedly conspired with her lover, Bernadino Elias, a 24-year-old security guard at the family’s Angola residence, to kill her husband in exchange for $50,000. According to authorities, Jackie had been in a secret relationship with Elias, who, along with two other men, reportedly agreed to carry out the fatal attack on Beau.

The Angola Press Agency reported that this gruesome plan unfolded last month, bringing an end to the former Minnesota police officer’s life in a remote part of Angola, where the Shroyers had lived as missionaries for three years.

The plan, investigators say, involved luring Beau to a secluded location under the guise of vehicle trouble. Once there, he was ambushed and fatally stabbed on October 25.

In a chilling twist, police found an American-made knife at the scene, a gift from Beau to Elias, according to Manuel Halaiwa, a spokesperson for Angola’s superintendent of criminal investigation. Additionally, around $5,000 was discovered near the crime scene.

Arrests and Ongoing Search for Suspects

Elias and another accomplice, Isalino “Vin Diesel” Kayoo, 23, were arrested shortly after the incident. Kayoo, who has a criminal record involving armed robbery and kidnapping, allegedly assisted in the attack. However, a third suspect, Gelson Ramos, 22, remains at large and is actively being sought by authorities.

Jackie reportedly acted distraught when authorities arrived at the scene, a behavior police now believe was a calculated effort to mask her involvement. Both she and the two captured suspects are being held in custody as the investigation continues. Angolan police, supported by the American Embassy, are also maintaining communication with the Shroyer family back in Minnesota.

Church and Family Devastated by Loss

The news of Beau’s death and Jackie’s arrest has deeply affected the congregation at Lakes Area Vineyard Church in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, where Beau previously served as lead pastor. In a heartfelt announcement, Pastor Troy Easton expressed the community’s “disbelief and sorrow,” saying he did not “have words to express” the depth of their grief. The couple’s five children, now under the care of church and mission organization SIM, have received support from the tight-knit community, which is rallying to ensure their well-being.

Beau and Jackie Shroyer had been working as missionaries in Angola with SIM for the past three years, a calling that seemed to embody their commitment to service. Before dedicating his life to mission work, Beau had served as an officer with the Detroit Lakes Police Department and briefly worked in real estate. SIM released a statement confirming that they are “working closely” with Lakes Area Vineyard Church to provide for the Shroyer children during this difficult time.

With the investigation ongoing and the community grappling with this tragic loss, those who knew Beau are left wondering how such an unimaginable betrayal could unfold in a family once seen as a pillar of faith.

A Time for Healing

As the community mourns the loss of Beau Shroyer and rallies around the couple’s children, many find solace in their faith and the strength of their shared bonds.

Friends, family, and church members are reminded of Proverbs 3:5-6:

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.”

In the face of such profound tragedy, this verse offers comfort, guiding those affected toward healing and unity in their support for the Shroyer family.
