After he was arrested and accused of arranging to procure a minor girl for prostitution, a state senator in Minnesota is facing calls to resign from his position following the allegations.
According to the authorities, Republican Justin Eichorn thought he was conversing with a female of 17 years old when he scheduled an encounter in Bloomington, which is a suburb of Minneapolis. However, he was actually communicating with an undercover cop.
A pickup truck was used to transport Eichorn to the spot, and he was taken into custody on Monday “without incident,” according to the Bloomington police department.
According to the records, he was being held at the Hennepin County Jail on Wednesday morning until further notice. There was a lack of clarity over whether or not he had obtained legal representation.
He is being investigated by the police in connection with probable felony charges of soliciting a minor for prostitution, according to the Police Department. In a statement released on Wednesday morning, the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office stated that it had not yet received the case.
Bloomington Police Chief Booker Hodges has referred to the entire city as the “Orange Jumpsuit District” due to the fact that there is no “red-light district” in the city that is dedicated to the provision of sexual services.
“As a 40-year-old man, if you come to the Orange Jumpsuit District looking to have sex with someone’s child, you can expect that we are going to lock you up,” Hodges stated on Tuesday.”

Speaker Lisa Demuth and Leader Harry Niska, both of the Republican Party in the Minnesota House of Representatives, issued a joint statement in which they said, “Given the seriousness of the charges, Senator Eichorn should leave his position.” Despite the fact that he is entitled to get due process, we ought to hold politicians to a higher standard.
The Republican Caucus in the Senate also demanded that Eichorn resign from his position.
“We are shocked by these reports and this alleged conduct demands an immediate resignation,” the caucus stated. “Justin has a difficult road ahead and he needs to focus on his family.”
