DULUTH, MN Beginning Thursday evening, a winter storm is expected to affect northwest Wisconsin and northeastern Minnesota, bringing with it snow, ice, and high winds that could make driving dangerous. Icylic conditions are anticipated on I-35 and other major highways, and snow accumulation of up to six inches is forecast in Duluth and around the North Shore.
The National Weather Service predicts that Thursday night will see a combination of rain and snow, which will turn into more intense snowfall overnight. Reduced visibility and drifting snow might result from blustery weather, which can reach gusts of up to 30 mph. Drivers should be ready for delays and slick roadways, especially at higher elevations and along the shores of Lake Superior.
