Missouri’s Kansas City From late Tuesday night through Wednesday evening, a significant winter storm is predicted to dump 5 to 10 inches of snow on portions of Kansas and Missouri. On Wednesday, the storm is predicted to affect the morning and evening commutes as well as travel conditions.
The Kansas City/Pleasant Hill National Weather Service reports that a Winter Storm Warning will be in force from Tuesday night at midnight until Wednesday at nine o’clock. Road conditions throughout eastern Kansas and central to northern Missouri might be hazardous due to even higher snowfall totals in some places.
Kansas City, St. Joseph, Liberty, Independence, Leavenworth, Olathe, and Kirksville are among the impacted cities. Authorities advise locals to postpone travel if at all possible, warning that traffic will be dangerous due to snow-covered roads and poor visibility.
It is advised that drivers who must travel include emergency supplies such as food, water, and a torch. Residents of Missouri can consult traveler.modot.org for the most recent road conditions, while those in Kansas can call 511.
As the storm moves closer, authorities advise keeping an eye on local forecasts because things could change quickly.
