Mother and Daughter Win $150,000 Powerball Prize

Baltimore, Maryland In the first drawing of the new year, a mother and daughter from Baltimore County won a $150,000 Powerball prize. A $2 Quick Pick ticket, which featured a $1 Power Play option, was bought at High’s on Maiden Choice Lane in Arbutus to earn the win.

The mother put the tickets away after buying them on January 1st, and they almost forgot about them until Sunday, when they typically check their numbers. When she scanned the tickets, she saw the notice that she had won $150,000. She told her daughter the news with excitement.

The winning pair matched the red Powerball number with four white balls. With a Power Play multiplier of three times, their earnings went from the typical $50,000 to $150,000. They were just one number away from earning the $178 million prize.

Although the two have already claimed their prize, they have not yet chosen how they will spend the money. They’re thinking of taking a trip with some of their profits. The next Powerball drawing, which has a $331 million jackpot with a cash option, is set for Saturday, January 18.
