This morning’s commute in New Jersey is facing multiple traffic disruptions, with incidents reported across key highways and bridges.
On the Garden State Parkway, a disabled vehicle on the southbound entrance ramp near Exit 82 in Toms River Township is partially blocking the ramp, causing delays in the area. Meanwhile, further north, a crash occurred south of Exit 114 at Red Hill Road in Holmdel Township, blocking the right lane and slowing traffic. In Cranford Township, another crash was reported just north of Exit 136, although all vehicles involved have been moved to the shoulder, keeping all lanes open.
In Chester Township, US 206 southbound is fully closed between NJ 24 and West Main Street due to an earlier crash. Authorities have not yet announced when it will reopen.
A gas main break on NJ 35 southbound at Holmdel Road in Hazlet Township has led to a full lane closure and detours. Similarly, a water main break on NJ 168 in Haddon Township is causing partial closures, with the left lane blocked.
The George Washington Bridge remains a bottleneck this morning, with the lower level experiencing delays of up to 50 minutes and the upper level facing even longer delays of 80 minutes for eastbound travelers. The Lincoln Tunnel isn’t faring much better, with delays of around 40 minutes for those using the center and south tunnels to head towards New York.
Volume-based slowdowns are reported across several major roads, including pockets of congestion on I-295 northbound between Hamilton and Lawrence Townships, and on NJ 29 in Trenton. US 1 in West Windsor Township is seeing increased traffic as well. Garden State Parkway drivers should be aware of heavy delays in Bloomfield and Woodbridge, while northbound lanes from Clark to Cranford are experiencing a one-and-a-half-mile backup due to congestion.
