After confronting a youngster at an apartment building and enlisting their help in kidnapping the victim, a guy, his brother, and their father are all charged with abduction, according to the Greece Police Department.
On Saturday, just before 3:45 p.m., police responded to a menacing call at the Glenora Gardens apartment complex and found three men and five adolescents.
At least one child, a 13-year-old kid, was confronted by 25-year-old Jayquon Martin, according to investigators.
Martin allegedly threatened the boy with a rifle, held him against his will in a flat for 45 minutes, demanded that he undress stole his phone, and chopped off his hair.
Martin allegedly sought assistance from his father, Lennis Williams, 53, and brother, Mikquon Williams, 22, in order to kidnap the victim and place him in handcuffs, according to the police.
“This is not a neighborhood that you would see that,”said Joe Eckert, who lives in the complex. “It’s very quiet, kids are playing out in the street, not much goes on,” he added.
In the rear seat of a vehicle, officers discovered Mikquon and Lennis Williams sitting next to a victim who was bound and naked.
Martin faces charges of abduction, robbery, criminal weapon possession, criminal mischief, and criminal use of a handgun. The kidnapping charges include his siblings and father.
Eckert expresses a newfound concern for his safety and expresses his desire that other residents of the complex remain vigilant.
“Just be careful, lock your doors and stay vigilant,” added the officer. “There’s always someone around the corner looking to do harm in this day and age.”
Following their arraignment, the three individuals in question were each given the option of posting bail of $5,000 with insurance or $7,500 with partial security.
