Nevada Teacher Assistant Arrested; Contacted Minor for Inappropriate Activities Las Vegas Police

A Clark County School District employee has been taken into custody following allegations of engaging in inappropriate communication or attempted communication with a minor for sexual purposes, as reported by law enforcement authorities.

A 20-year-old individual named Jerusalem Garcia was apprehended on Friday, Aug. 23, and subsequently transported to the Clark County Detention Center. An investigation was launched at Eldorado High School, leading to the arrest, according to the police.

Garcia is being charged with one count of contacting or attempting to contact a minor by a person of authority for the purpose of sex, according to CCSD police.

Garcia is a dedicated Specialized Program Teacher Assistant who has been serving Eldorado High School since August 2021. She has been placed on leave by the terms of the negotiated agreement with the bargaining unit.
