New Jersey’s Brigantine. When the kid she was hired to watch was found walking alone outside in the bitter cold, a Ventnor City lady was found comatose from alcohol consumption and was charged with child endangerment, according to the police.
When a worried neighbor noticed the unattended toddler outside their home on January 13, 2025, at approximately 12:33 p.m., they called the Brigantine Police Department. The caller brought the toddler inside for safety after identifying them as a neighbor.
The neighbor discovered the 35-year-old babysitter, Jena Davidson, asleep and unresponsive inside the house when he brought the youngster back to his house. Before Davidson was taken to a hospital, responding Brigantine Police Department officers and Brigantine Fire and EMS emergency personnel administered medical attention.
The parent of the toddler was informed right away and came home from work. Authorities discovered during the investigation that Davidson was employed by a well-known online childcare provider. She was found to have consumed a large quantity of wine from the family’s house, which caused her to become incapacitated.
Officer Sofield said that Davidson was charged with second-degree endangering the welfare of a child.
Anyone with more information on the event is urged to call the Brigantine Police Department at (609) 266-7414, according to the police.
