A Brooklyn man, described as a “guerrilla pimp,” allegedly coerced victims as young as 16 to work for him at a well-known open-air sex market in the area, according to federal prosecutors.
A man named Ferron Facey, aged 38, has been charged with multiple offenses after allegedly forcing young women to work for him at a place called “Penn Track” in East New York. According to Breon Peace, the US Attorney for the Eastern District of New York, Facey is accused of using violence and coercion to control these women.
Facey, who goes by the aliases “Azul” or “Royal Da P,” allegedly enlisted the services of two women, one of whom was a young teenager, to engage in the sex trade in early July, according to prosecutors.
According to reports, there were text message exchanges between him and the underage victim where they discussed arrangements for prostitution, including the cost of a “car date.”
According to court papers, the young woman, who is 20 years old, managed to flee from her captor and reported the incident to a non-governmental agency in Houston, Texas. In her report, she described the individual as a “abusive guerrilla pimp” who subjected her to physical violence, including beatings and choking that left her on the brink of losing consciousness.
On Monday, Facey was apprehended within the confines of his residence. Federal agents discovered a loaded 9mm handgun in a bedroom, along with several rounds of ammunition discreetly stashed in an air fryer in the kitchen.
Officials discovered a powdery substance spread throughout a bathroom and a significant amount of cash discreetly stashed behind a bed in the bedroom.
According to prosecutors, Facey has a track record of threatening violence against women. This claim comes after a video surfaced on social media showing him verbally assaulting a woman at the Penn Track. The video also captures two women exiting his car and attacking the woman.
Facey’s arrest follows the apprehension of two individuals involved in the “Penn Track” case, where they were accused of murdering a competitor who attempted to recruit one of their sex workers.
Two individuals, Omari “Sir Prince” Scott, 43, and Michael “Victory” Simmons, 42, are facing charges in connection with a violent conflict that resulted in the tragic shooting death of Cleveland Clay, a fellow individual involved in illegal activities, according to prosecutors.
A Brooklyn Federal Court judge ordered Facey to be detained at his arraignment on charges of sex trafficking and interstate prostitution involving young women from out of state.
If found guilty of sex trafficking through force, fraud, and coercion, he could face a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years. Additionally, the maximum penalty for interstate prostitution charges is 20 years in prison.
