New York Weather Update: Widespread Fog and 20s-30s Temps Until Wednesday Morning

Binghamton, New YorkUpstate New York drivers should brace themselves for frigid overnight temperatures and heavy fog into Wednesday morning. Particularly north of the Southern Tier, visibility might drastically decline.

The National Weather Service (NWS) Binghamton predicts that fog will start to form late Tuesday and last until late Wednesday. Auburn, Utica, and Syracuse are among the most impacted areas. Travelers should slow down and use low-beam headlights.

Roads in some places will be slick due to overnight temperatures that range from the upper 20s to the mid-30s. Syracuse is expected to drop to 30 F, while Binghamton and Elmira will hover around 30-33 F. Lows in northern areas, such as Boonville, may get close to 27 degrees Fahrenheit.

Because fog and chilly weather might combine to form black ice, drivers should use caution. When driving in impacted regions, keep a safe distance and refrain from making abrupt stops.
