North Carolina’s Macon County. According to the Macon County Sheriff’s Office, a weapon was found inside a school on Thursday, and a teacher in the county is being investigated.
The incident started when someone else discovered the firearm on school grounds, inside an abandoned purse. The teacher, whose name has not been made public, was not there when the finding was discovered, according to the authorities.
Sheriff Brent Holbrooks stressed the incident’s gravity in a statement and reminded everyone that, with the exception of law enforcement, guns are not allowed on school property. He stated that the school system and law enforcement are collaborating to solve the issue and that the safety and wellbeing of our employees and children are our top priorities.
Although the sheriff’s office recognized the teacher as a valued community member, they emphasized the significance of abiding by the laws intended to preserve a secure school environment.
