Ocean County Declared Trumpiest County in New Jersey According to 2024 Election Results

TOMS RIVER, N.J. — Nearly full figures show that Ocean County was the most Republican county in New Jersey during the 2024 presidential election, giving Donald Trump a decisive win over Kamala Harris.

With 227,232 votes to Harris’s 105,789, Trump received 67.4% of the vote in Ocean County, with 99% of the vote counted. With its performance, the county is the most Trumpiest in the state, giving the former president the biggest victory margin of any New Jersey county.

Trump received 52,121 votes, or 61.6% of the vote, in Sussex County, another Republican stronghold, while Harris received 31,008 votes, or 36.6%. Even though Monmouth County supported Trump, the margin was narrower. There, Harris received 43.4% of the vote (156,382 votes), whereas Trump received 54.8% (197,409 votes).

Although the Jersey Shore’s Ocean County has historically supported the Republican Party, the 2024 results highlight the county’s increasing status as a GOP stronghold in a state that leans blue overall.

Ocean County is a notable anomaly in favor of Trump, but the state as a whole ultimately voted for Kamala Harris, following its decades-long tradition of backing Democratic presidential candidates.
