NJA’s Toms River Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said Friday that a man from Manchester Township had been sentenced to 18 years in New Jersey State Prison for attempting to kill a lady in a stabbing incident in 2023.
Judge Kenneth T. Palmer sentenced Harry Bray, Jr., 37, after he entered a guilty plea to attempted murder. Bray is not eligible for parole until he has completed at least 85% of his sentence under the No Early Release Act.
A woman with many stab wounds was found by a Brick Township police officer on January 5, 2023, close to a disabled car with two flat tires off Cherry Quay Road. After suffering severe injuries, the victim was taken to a rehabilitation center. At home, she is currently recuperating.
Bray was connected to the attack by investigators from the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office, Brick Township Police Department, and Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office. Later that night, he was taken into custody in Manchester Township without any problems.
Since his arrest, Bray has been detained at the Ocean County Jail, where he will now spend over 20 years in prison for the savage assault.
The case, which had a significant influence on the local community, comes to an end with the punishment.
