Ocean County to host free utility assistance event in Toms River

New Jersey’s Toms River.On February 19, Ocean County Utility Assistance Day is a free community event that will give residents who are having trouble paying their utility bills a chance to get in touch with services that can help.

The Ocean County Library, 101 Washington Street, Toms River, will host the event from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. There will be representatives from several organizations on hand to respond to inquiries and offer details on the grant programs that are available.

The New Jersey Department of Human Services, Ocean Inc., NJ SHARES, Jersey Natural Gas, Jersey Central Power & Light, the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs, and Catholic Charities are among the program’s partners. To assist with utility cost management, attendees will receive information on available financial aid.
