Off-duty NYPD officer arrested in Staten Island on assault and criminal mischief charges

New York’s Staten Island.Late Tuesday evening on Staten Island, an off-duty NYPD officer was taken into custody and accused of assault and criminal mischief, according to the police.

At around 11:35 p.m., 31-year-old police officer Alisa Selbes was arrested within the 122nd Precinct, according to the NYPD.

Selbes is charged with third-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal mischief. The incident that resulted in her arrest has not been made public.

Selbes was not on duty when the arrest took place. The involvement of another NYPD officer and whether the event resulted from a domestic or civilian quarrel have not been confirmed by authorities.

After the arrest, NYPD officials have not commented on the officer’s current duty status.
