Ohio Weather Alert: Showers and Fog Expected Tuesday Night Along I-71, Cooler Temperatures to Follow




Wilmington, OH Showers across Ohio today will give way to clearing skies by this evening, but fog is expected to develop overnight, creating potentially hazardous driving conditions on major roadways like I-71 and I-70 early Wednesday morning. Temperatures will drop sharply overnight, bringing a cooler, breezy Wednesday.

According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, rain is expected to taper off by late afternoon. Highs will reach the mid-60s today before falling to the mid-40s overnight. Areas of dense fog could reduce visibility during the Wednesday morning commute, especially near valleys and low-lying roads. Drivers should allow extra travel time and use low beams in foggy conditions.

Wednesday will remain cool and breezy, with highs in the mid-50s and wind gusts up to 40 mph in the afternoon. By Thursday, temperatures will dip further as rain and snow showers are possible, particularly in northern Ohio. Minimal snow accumulation is expected, but drivers should remain alert.

The extended forecast includes highs in the low 40s on Friday, with another chance of rain or snow during the morning hours. Sunshine and cooler temperatures are expected for the weekend, offering a dry respite after an unsettled week.
