The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Cold Weather Advisory through 9 a.m. on Friday due to wind chills that will range from 0 to -6 F.However, under bright skies, temperatures will rise above freezing by Friday afternoon, reaching a high of 28 degrees Fahrenheit.
On Saturday, the warm-up continues, with a high of 43 degrees Fahrenheit and light southwest winds.On Sunday, Tulsa could get sunny skies with highs close to 56 degrees Fahrenheit, providing respite from the extreme cold. Residents should take precautions because overnight lows will still drop into the teens and twenties.
With generally sunny sky and quiet winds, temperatures will rise to 67 degrees Fahrenheit on Monday and 68 degrees Fahrenheit on Tuesday early next week. But by Wednesday, another cold front might move in, potentially changing the weather.
On Friday morning, drivers should keep an eye out for icy patches on bridges and overpasses.Before leaving, drivers on U.S. Highway 75 and I-44 should bundle up and give additional time.
