Oklahoma Farmer Killed by Water Buffaloes He Had Just Bought, Police Say

Authorities claimed on Monday that two water buffaloes that the guy had purchased at a livestock sale the day before attacked and murdered him on Friday.

According to a news statement from the Jones Police Department, the 47-year-old male, Bradley McMichael, was discovered in the animal cage with several serious wounds that ultimately proved to be fatal.

Chief Bryan K. Farrington of the Jones police said in an interview on Monday that when emergency personnel arrived at McMichael Farms in Jones, Oklahoma, northeast of Oklahoma City, at approximately 8:30 p.m., they found Mr. McMichael inside a building and could only see his legs.

The chief claimed that both animals had attacked Mr. McMichael and that by the time the workers could reach him, he had already passed away from his wounds.

According to the authorities, emergency personnel were unable to assist Mr. McMichael because of the euthanized animals.

According to Chief Farrington, the water buffaloes had pushed back against the fence and raised it in the air with their horns, preventing assistance from reaching Mr. McMichael. As a result, we were unable to pass through the gate to reach his location.

He claimed to be in the pen with them. They wouldn’t let us into the pen, so we couldn’t get to him.

The police suspect that on Friday night, while Mr. McMichael was caring for the animals, he got stuck in the enclosure.

“We lost Bradley on Friday in a tragic accident,” McMichael Farms said on Facebook on Sunday, announcing Mr. McMichael’s passing.

The message, signed by Jennifer, stated that “his farm was his dream and I had the privilege of helping him with it for a little while.”

Although some people in the region had experienced water buffalo attacks in the past, Chief Farrington stated that he was not aware of any deadly attacks in the area.
