Oregon Winter Storm Could Dump Up to 18 Inches of Snow by Monday

Medford, OR – Winter storm warnings are in effect across Southern Oregon, with heavy snowfall predicted from 4 p.m. Sunday through 10 p.m. Monday. Areas in the Southern Oregon Cascades and Siskiyou Mountains could see accumulations between 6 and 18 inches, creating hazardous travel conditions.

According to the National Weather Service, the heaviest snow will fall north of Lake of the Woods. Wind gusts of up to 35 mph may worsen visibility and travel risks. Impacted highways include 58, 62, 140, and 230, with snow levels dropping rapidly Sunday evening to around 2,500 feet.

Residents are urged to prepare for icy roads and potentially impossible travel conditions. The storm could disrupt Monday commutes. Emergency supplies, including food, water, and flashlights, are strongly recommended for those traveling through affected areas.
