MONROE TOWNSHIP, N.J. — Two beagles are behind bars — well, figuratively speaking — after being picked up by Monroe Township police on Tuesday.
The pair of dogs were found wandering near Coles Mill and Jackson Road, prompting a concerned citizen to alert authorities. Officers quickly arrived on the scene and secured the wayward canines, who were then handed over to Animal Control for safekeeping.
The Monroe Township Police Department shared the news on its Facebook page, posting a photo of the floppy-eared “partners in crime” and asking for help identifying their owner. “These two beagles were found on Coles Mill at Jackson Road. They were turned over to Animal Control. Contact dispatch if you know the owner. Thank you!” the department wrote.
