Pedestrian struck and killed by Tesla on Governor Printz Boulevard




Del. Wilmington. According to Delaware State Police, a 58-year-old lady was killed Thursday night after she was hit by a car while crossing Governor Printz Boulevard.

Around 5:31 p.m., a deadly collision happened close to Downing Drive. According to authorities, the pedestrian was trying to cross the road’s westbound lanes in an area without illumination or designated crosswalks.

The woman was hit by a 2021 Tesla Model 3 that was heading west as she crossed the street heading north. After being taken to a nearby hospital, the pedestrian was declared dead. Her identify is being kept secret by the police until her family is informed.

The 31-year-old Claymont, Delaware, man who was driving the Tesla was unharmed in the collision. Governor Printz Boulevard was closed for approximately three hours as detectives processed the area of the event.

State Police have not yet filed any charges and are still looking into the collision.
