A Pennsylvania man has been imprisoned for a violent outburst about marijuana money after he allegedly attacked his parents and then attacked officers when being arrested in Newberry Township, Pennsylvania. When his mother refused to give him money to buy marijuana, 20-year-old Evan Gabriel Houseman reportedly lost it. This led to a violent altercation that left his parents hospitalized and police fighting to calm him down.

The Violent Confrontation

A house on Sam Snead Circle in Newberry Township, Pennsylvania, was the scene of the tumultuous events on January 5. Police said that after his kid started hitting his mother, Houseman’s father dialed 911. Houseman allegedly exclaimed, “Shoot me!” while dispatchers were listening to a scuffle in the background of the call.

According to Houseman’s mother, the incident started the previous evening when she refused to give her son the money he needed to purchase marijuana. An argument that swiftly turned into physical violence and suicide threats was started by the refusal.

The next morning, she claimed, her son seized her head, pushed it to the ground, and put her in a headlock while threatening to put pressure on her neck if she didn’t give him his prescription.

A Destructive Escalation

When Houseman’s father stepped in, things became much more heated. Houseman allegedly tossed a TV and an Xbox down a flight of stairs during an argument between the two, damaging both items as well as the nearby wall.

Houseman allegedly shoved him down the steps, hitting his head on the garage door as his father rushed below to inspect the damage.

In an effort to get away from his kid, Houseman’s father withdrew outside. However, Houseman is accused of following him, headlocking him, and pushing him to the ground in the driveway.

“I’m going to kill you and take you both out,” the younger Houseman allegedly said to his father. Houseman started using a stick to damage his father’s car when he was freed.

The Arrest and Aftermath

When the police arrived, they told Houseman to place his hands behind his back. Officers had to take him into custody using a Taser after he refused. Houseman allegedly repeatedly kicked officers in delicate body parts while they were being arrested.

Houseman was taken for a mental health assessment, and both parents were taken to the hospital for their injuries. Following his booking into York County Prison, he is charged with a number of offenses, including harassment, assault, strangulation, terrorist threats, resisting arrest, and criminal mischief. On February 5, Houseman is expected to appear in court.
