Philadelphia police respond to reported firearm incident at Bartram High School, two detained




Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Bartram High School, located at 6700 Elmwood Avenue, was immediately placed under lockdown after officers arrived on the scene of allegations of a male student inside the building on Tuesday morning brandishing a pistol.

Authorities have not yet found or recovered the pistol, but two men who are suspected of bringing it onto school premises have been taken into custody.

While SWAT and Counter-Terrorism units continue to be on the scene to support the investigation, school officials issued an early dismissal for all employees and kids in order to maintain safety.

Since the investigation is ongoing, law enforcement has not released any additional information about the incident’s circumstances or the identity of individuals in custody.
