Philadelphia police seek suspect in Market Street firearm theft

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.According to the Philadelphia Police Department, authorities are looking for a suspect who stole a pistol and other items from a 27-year-old man on Market Street earlier this month.

The victim placed a black Adidas duffle bag filled with personal belongings, including a Taurus Compact G2C 9mm gun and an additional magazine, inside a room in a building on the 900 block of Market Street on December 14, 2024, at around 6:19 p.m.

Around 8:00 p.m., the victim went back to get his bag, but it was gone. An unidentifiable white male was seen entering and leaving the building with the victim’s luggage on local surveillance camera.

According to police, the suspect is a homeless man who is known to hang around Market Street. The serial number of the pilfered firearm is 1C110695.

Investigators from the Central Detective Division are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying the person depicted in CCTV images. Authorities are urged to be contacted by anyone with information.
