A replica of the White House, known as the “Western White House,” in Hillsborough has sold for $23 million. The sale price is about $16 million below its original listing price of $38.9 million in 2023.

The property was commissioned by George Randolph Hearst, eldest son of media tycoon William Randolph Hearst, and designed by famed architect Julia Morgan in 1930.

The sprawling, four-level iconic home was restored to its former glory and updated to modern standards.

The 24,350-square-foot Colonial-style home has a whopping 11 bedrooms and 15 bathrooms. There are a number of gathering spaces, including an “East Room” with a fireplace and an “Oval Office.” The home also offers a theater room, wine cellar, and staff quarters, among many other amenities. The property, which sits on 3 acres of land, has its own rose garden along with a swimming pool and pavilion.
