Ahoy mateys! ARGH you ready for some fun? A pirate invasion is coming to The District in Downtown Clearwater this Saturday!
Stacy Myers of Pirate Parties on the Rocks, Inc., a 501(c)3 charity which hosts an annual party the same day as Gasparilla, and a number of boat captains grew tired of the 11-hour day trek across Tampa Bay to participate in the Tampa Bay Gasparilla invasion – so they created their own with amazing results. Boaters raised tens of thousands of dollars for the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches, which serves at-risk kids, at Caddy’s in Indian Shores.
This year, with a grant from the Downtown Development Board, they are relocating the invasion to downtown Clearwater this year for a four-hour festival with a live band, dancing & entertainment – all with a focus on gathering funds for the Sheriffs Youth Ranches.
The invasion starts at 1 p.m. and continues until 5 p.m. Dress like a pirate and come out for some spirits and grub.
