Police Apprehend Armed Suspect Following Gunfire Report


Akron, OH – A 37-year-old man was detained after citizens reported gunfire, leading to a police response at approximately 12:20 a.m. on Wednesday. Officers arrived at the 400 block of W. Market Street and were informed that the suspect had been seen at the Circle K parking lot.

Upon the officers’ approach, the suspect fled, abandoning a car that matched a vehicle description involved in the incident. The individual, identified as Terrell Talley, was apprehended following a brief struggle.

A search of the vehicle resulted in the recovery of a rifle and a handgun. Talley faces multiple charges, including Obstructing Official Business, Weapons Under Disability, Improperly Handling a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle, and Resisting Arrest.


After being charged, Talley was transported to the Summit County Jail. The Akron Police Department is actively working on cases related to public safety in the community.
