Police investigate shots fired incident in Greenwood; no injuries reported

GREENWOOD, Del. — Delaware State Police are investigating a shooting incident that occurred on Wednesday morning in Greenwood, where gunfire was reported but no injuries or property damage were sustained.

The incident unfolded at approximately 11:01 a.m. on Webb Farm Road near Beach Highway, according to authorities. A 44-year-old man driving southbound in a Toyota reported encountering a gray Dodge pick-up truck pulling a trailer, which entered his lane of travel. The Toyota driver honked his horn at the Dodge, prompting the pick-up to pull over on Webb Farm Road.

An unknown man exited the Dodge, but the Toyota driver continued southbound onto Oak Road. Moments later, the driver reported hearing multiple gunshots in the area. Investigators determined that no one was struck and no vehicles or property were hit by the gunfire.

Delaware State Police Troop 4’s Criminal Investigations Unit is actively investigating the incident and is asking for the public’s assistance.
