Queens Man Receives Seven-Year Sentence for Brooklyn Robberies

Brooklyn, New York A Queens man who committed three violent robberies in Brooklyn was given a seven-year jail sentence. The defendant, Dupreme Williams, a 43-year-old Far Rockaway resident, entered a guilty plea to robbery last month, according to Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez.

Brooklyn Supreme Court Justice Jane Tully sentenced Williams to seven years in jail and five years of post-release supervision. The plea came after he admitted to being charged with second-degree robbery on October 29.

According to the investigation, the episodes started on February 13, 2014. Around 8:15 a.m., Williams assaulted a 50-year-old lady at Fleet Street and Flatbush Avenue Extension, stealing her AirPods in the process. He then attacked a 73-year-old man on a northbound F train at the York Street subway at approximately 9:45 a.m. and stole the victim’s cell phone.

Williams also attacked a guy outside 2135 Pitkin Avenue on March 8 at around 1:55 p.m.
