Ride-share driver carjacked in Baltimore, suspect arrested after pursuit

Baltimore, Maryland Following a brief foot pursuit and carjacking of a ride-share driver, a 20-year-old male was taken into custody early Monday morning, according to the Baltimore Police Department.

The event happened in the 2400 block of West North Avenue on January 6 at around 2:41 a.m. According to police, a male passenger aggressively attacked the 31-year-old ride-share driver, forcing the victim to get out of the car. The suspect then took off in the victim’s vehicle.

While conducting a canvas in the 1700 block of Presbury Street, Western District cops promptly found the stolen car. When the suspect was caught after a brief foot pursuit, he was taken to the Central Booking Intake Facility and charged with carjacking.
