Sausalito hotel inducted into Historic Hotels of America program

Along with more than 300 other historic hotels in the US, the Casa Madrona Hotel & Spa in Sausalito was included in the Historic Hotels of America program run by the National Trust for Historic Preservation. A hotel must be at least 50 years old, recognized as having historic significance, and either listed in or eligible to be listed in the National Register of Historic Places or designated as a national historic landmark by the U.S. Secretary of the Interior in order to be chosen.

Lawrence Horwitz, executive vice president of Historic Hotels of America and Historic Hotels Worldwide, said in a press release, “We applaud Casa Madrona Hotel & Spa, MetWest Terra Hospitality, and (their) leadership team for their meticulous historic preservation work, stewardship, and vision that will allow future generations of travelers to experience this unique historic destination.”
