Maryland’s Elliott Island. Kevin Gavin, 65, of Timonium, was last seen boating in the Elliott Island region on the morning of December 8 and was reported missing. The Maryland Natural Resources Police (NRP) and several other organizations are looking for him.
When Gavin vanished, authorities claim he was driving a green 16-foot Sea Nymph jon boat. The boater has not been seen since the vessel was found in Fishing Bay on December 10.
Gavin, according to NRP officers, is a 65-year-old man of Caucasian descent with short gray hair. Teams have been employing both maritime and airborne resources in their continuous search operations in the waters surrounding Elliott Island and Fishing Bay.
“As we continue our search efforts, Mr. Gavin’s safety and well-being remain our top priority,” the NRP said in a release, encouraging anybody with information to come forward.
Maryland Natural Resources Police is asking anyone who may have observed the vessel or who knows more about Gavin’s movements to call them at 410-260-8888.
Search teams are working in the region’s vast waterways and are running out of time.
