Park, Severna, MD Officials said Thursday that a longtime Maryland Lottery scratch-off enthusiast had struck gold, taking home the $100,000 top prize on a $30 $100,000 Ca$h game ticket bought at a Rite Aid in Severna Park.
The lucky ticket was bought at the Rite Aid on 25 Jones Station Road by the anonymous winner, who went by Jack. She was shocked to see the message announcing her $100,000 win when she scratched the reward check area. When she claimed her win, she said to lottery officials, “I’ve never seen so many zeros.”
Excited, Jack immediately told her brother and other close relatives about the news. Her brother also enjoys scratch-offs and aspires to win big someday. She intends to feed her family, pay off debt, and keep playing scratch-offs, which is her favorite pastime, with her wins.
The Rite Aid retailer will get a $1,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket. There are still 50 top prizes up for grabs in the $100,000 Ca$h game, which debuted in September 2023, in addition to hundreds of smaller prizes worth between $30 and $5,000.
