The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) has announced that two suspects have been arrested and charged with a commercial burglary at the Saks Fifth Avenue store in Chevy Chase on September 10, 2024, while detectives seek the public’s help in identifying over 20 additional suspects involved.
27-year-old Mandel Greene of Washington, D.C. and 21-year-old Omar Ross Staley of Beltsville have been arrested and charged with a commercial burglary that occurred on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at the Saks Fifth Avenue store in the 5500 block of Wisconsin Avenue in Chevy Chase. Detectives have released surveillance video of additional suspects and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying them.
At approximately 1:10 a.m., 2nd District and Chevy Chase Village Police officers responded to the location for the report of a commercial burglary.
The preliminary investigation has revealed that more than 20 suspects forced entry into the store, stole merchandise and left the scene.
Upon arriving on scene, officers observed a group of people leaving the area of the store and shortly after apprehended Greene and Staley.
Greene and Staley were transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit, where Greene was charged with second-degree burglary and theft $1,500 to under $25,000, and Staley was charged with second-degree burglary. They have been released on unsecured personal bonds.

Detectives reviewed the surveillance footage of the store and obtained a description of the other suspects.
