DALLAS, Texas — It’s not just Haitians shooting at planes anymore. Now, a plane in America has been shot at, according to multiple reports.

A Southwest Airlines flight preparing to depart from Dallas Love Field Airport was hit by gunfire near the cockpit on Friday night, prompting law enforcement involvement and the grounding of the aircraft, according to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

The Boeing 737-800 was taxiing for takeoff to Indianapolis, Indiana, when the incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. local time. A bullet struck just below the flight deck, but no injuries were reported, officials confirmed.

“Law enforcement authorities have been notified and the plane has been removed from service,” a Southwest Airlines spokesperson told the Daily Mail. Passengers aboard the aircraft were deboarded after the pilot returned to the gate, and the airline assured customers that alternative travel arrangements were being made.

The suspect responsible for the gunfire remains at large. The Dallas Police Department responded to the scene following what the airport referred to as a “security incident” in a post on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter.
