State police colonel visits Mt. Olive Middle School to discuss civic values

BUDD LAKE, N.J. — New Jersey State Police Colonel Patrick J. Callahan returned to his hometown Thursday to speak with seventh graders at Mt. Olive Middle School, emphasizing the importance of citizenship and community service.

The talk, hosted in the school’s auditorium, focused on encouraging students to be civic-minded and active participants in their communities. Students responded enthusiastically, broadening the discussion with questions that ranged beyond citizenship to topics of values, community, and personal impact.
