Why Some Fans Are Avoiding Delivery
Using its Pulse AI: Signals platform, Chatmeter, a multi-location consumer intelligence company, examined over 2 million customer experiences. The information shows why a large number of customers are avoiding delivery services. High fees are the major impediment for 55% of them. Others point to cold food (41%), lengthy wait times (43%), and increased menu costs on delivery apps (39%).
Fans also favored other options due to negative prior encounters with delivery drivers (22%) and the expectation of tipping (20%).
Delivery Demand Still High Despite Issues
36% of Americans want to use meal delivery services for the Big Game, and 37% of those consumers anticipate spending more than they did the previous year, despite the concerns. In order to concentrate on the game or spend time with friends and family, 42% of delivery users said they would rather not cook.
Additionally, many will take advantage of exclusive offers from well-known delivery apps like Grubhub, DoorDash, and Uber Eats. 35% of people who intend to place a purchase this weekend are actually doing it with a bargain in mind.
Common Delivery Complaints Could Impact the Big Day
Recent problems can worry people who depend on delivery. Approximately 50% of customers complain that their food was cold when it arrived or that deliveries were delayed. Furthermore, 44% of orders have had products missing.
More than half of delivery-related evaluations were either unfavorable (46%) or mixed (6%) in sentiment, according to Chatmeter’s Pulse AI. When customers attempt to resolve issues, a large number of these complaints involve impolite employees or subpar customer service.
What Fans Are Ordering and What They Aren t
Customers say not all foods are suitable for delivery. The best food to order is pizza, which is followed by sandwiches, burgers, tacos, and wings.
However, due to quality problems when they arrived, steak, ice cream, shellfish, and french fries were the worst dishes to have delivered.
Chatmeter CEO Warns of Risks for Restaurants
John Mazur, CEO of Chatmeter, highlighted the significance of restaurant strategy at major occasions like as the Super Bowl.
