Suspect arrested after armed robbery at Dollar General in Absecon




ABSECON, N.J. — The Absecon Police Department said that a male was taken into custody after an armed robbery at the Dollar General on White Horse Pike on Friday evening.

Just before 8:30 p.m., officers received a 9-1-1 call stating that a male suspect had entered the store, brandished a weapon, and threatened staff members while requesting money. Employees obeyed, and the suspect took the stolen cash and escaped on foot.

Officers noticed a person who fit the suspect’s description close by a short while later. The perpetrator was apprehended following a brief foot pursuit through residential yards.

The suspect’s identity has not been made public, and the inquiry is still ongoing.
