In Chula Vista, Taco Bellis is experimenting with a new idea that emphasizes specialty drinks.
On Monday, December 9, the Live M’s Caf officially opened, replacing the Taco Bell drive-thru that was located at 1548 E. H. St.
Drinks include Churro Chillers, shakes with chilled foam and churro pieces in flavors such Mexican Chocolate, Cinnavanilla Coffee, Wild Strawberry, and Caramel Cafe, and Refrescas, Taco Bell’s take on aguas frescas in a variety of fruit flavors.
Additionally, the menu offers hot or iced coffees including Mexican Mocha, Cinnabon Caramel, and Vanilla Crema.
According to representatives, Taco Bell menu items are also sold at the eateries.
According to a news release from the Irvine-based fast food juggernaut, this new concept demonstrates Taco Bell’s strategy to upend the beverage sector with a Taco Bell twist.
The action is a part of a trend known as the “beverage boom” by certain restaurant reporters. Juices, smoothies, and coffees provide consumers reasonably priced treats, according to Nation’s Restaurant News.
Taco Bell is not the only company experimenting with ideas centered around beverages. When McDonald’s built its first test store in Bolingbrook, Illinois, a year ago, it announced a similar spinoff called CosMc.
Since then, six outlets have opened in Texas, offering drinks like Prickly Pear Slush and Coconut Mocha Cold Brew.
The opening of CosMc’s restaurants in California has not yet been announced by McDonald’s.
