Take a Virtual Tour of The Arc Tampa Bay

The Arc Tampa Bay is a very special organization in our area. Its mission? To support and empower people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The Arc Tampa Bay services the entire range of persons with intellectual and developmental challenges – including persons with autism, seniors and persons with intense behavioral issues.

The Arc Tampa Bay probably is best known for its annual Festival of Trees – of which all tree and wreath sales benefits The Arc’s special needs recipients. https://thearctbfoundation.org/event/festival-of-trees.

But The Arc also has three locations which helps all year round in 18 group homes and in three day locations:

At the Long Center, The Arc Tampa Bay offers several educational, employment, and recreational programs for intellectually/developmentally disabled adults at the spacious Long Center facility, which is owned and operated by the City of Clearwater. This unique partnership allows for access to sports venues and the use of facility services, allowing day program participants to experience community activities alongside Clearwater residents.

At the Harborshide Studions in Safety Harbor, adult day program participants expressing an interest in the arts may come choose to come to this charming art studio located in downtown Safety Harbor.

At Harborside, not only do artists explore various techniques and artistic mediums, but their paintings, ceramic items, jewelry and other crafts are also on display and are available for purchase. Artists also routinely display their creations at local events such as Safety Harbor’s 3rd Friday.

In Tarpon Springs, a quaint site, with ample acreage, was opened to fill a need in northern Pinellas and southern Pasco counties for adult day program services. Adults enjoy many leisure, educational and therapeutic activities at this site.

With its proximity to many local attractions, day program participants also have opportunities to enjoy community outings to the Sponge Docks, the Tarpon Springs Aquarium, and more.

The Arc Tampa Bay always needs donations to help to ensure continued care and needed services for those with developmental disabilities. To donate to this important foundation, visit https://thearctbfoundation.org/donate.
