Tanker truck overturns on Maryland’s 295, causing traffic delays

Baltimore, Maryland. Significant traffic interruptions occurred in both directions Thursday morning after a tanker truck toppled along Maryland Route 295 in the Lansdowne-Baltimore Highlands region.

Northbound lanes were temporarily closed while emergency personnel responded after Baltimore County Police reported delays close to the incident location. Authorities said that northbound lanes had reopened by late morning.

Officials concluded that the liquid being transported was not harmful after an initial inquiry raised questions about its contents. There were no reported injuries or further public safety hazards related to the incident.

In a Facebook post, the Baltimore County Police Department warned commuters that there will be delays on 295 in both directions.

Since then, traffic has resumed, although officials have cautioned drivers to exercise caution when passing through the area.
